Baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation. It tells the story of your faith in Jesus Christ and what He has done in your life. At Good News Church, we believe baptism symbolizes:

• New Life in Christ
  Going under the water represents dying to your old life without Christ. Coming up out of the water shows that you’ve been raised to new life through Him.

• Cleansing from Sin
  Baptism symbolizes being washed clean—your sins forgiven through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.

• Unity with Jesus
  It’s a way of identifying with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection.

• Obedience to Christ
  Jesus instructed His followers to be baptized. While baptism isn't required for salvation, it is a step of obedience and a public declaration of your faith.

At Good News Church, we baptize by immersion because we believe this best reflects the example set by Jesus and the meaning behind baptism as shown in Scripture.
